Louis O. Oubre

Louis O. Oubre is happy to rejoin Courington, Kiefer, Sommers, Marullo, & Matherne, LLC in 2021 as a member. He focuses his practice on defending companies in toxic tort and personal injury litigation. Louis has extensive experience handling discovery, depositions, motions practice and mediation. He also represents clients in the areas of products liability and insurance coverage defense.

A magna cum laude graduate and student government president at Nicholls State University, Louis worked eight years in classical radio and with the United States Department of Treasury before attending Loyola University School of Law. He graduated in 1997 in the top 10% of his class with Moot Court honors.

Louis is licensed to practice before all Louisiana State Courts, including the Louisiana Supreme Court, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

He is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association, New Orleans Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, Fifth Circuit Federal Bar Association, Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, and the Defense Research Institute.

Louis is married and has two children. He is a supporter and founding charter member of the National World War II Museum and is honored to support its mission to tell the stories of the brave men and women who sacrificed so much for the freedom we enjoy today. He is also a former president of the New Orleans Symphony Chorus and former board member of the New Orleans Symphony.
