Annual Non-Profit
2021: FRIENDS OF NGONG ROAD ANNUAL SPONSORSHIP OF A YOUNG GIRL Friends of Ngong Road (FoNR), a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3), and Ngong Road Children Association (NRCA), a registered Kenya NGO, operate with the shared mission of providing education and support for impoverished Nairobi children whose families have been affected by HIV/AIDS. The devastation
caused by HIV/AIDS in Kenya has left the country with approximately 1 million orphaned children and many more living with a surviving HIV+ parent. Children in this program all live in the slums of Dagoretti, Nairobi where the median household income is under two dollars per day. Approximately 50% of the children in the program are orphans and the other 50% live with a surviving HIV+ parent; 5% of children in the program are themselves HIV+. Without the opportunity provided by a high-quality education, these children would be sentenced to lives of continuing poverty and would be an economic drag on Kenyan society. Unfortunately, Kenya’s public education system is not up to the task as it is woefully underfunded and inconsistent in quality. FoNR believes that placing at-risk children in high-performing private schools for primary education and public high schools gives them the best chance of success and will have a long-term positive ripple effect on Kenya, Africa and the world. Also in February 2014, and continuing now in 2021, we began an annual sponsorship of a child with the ANGEL’S IN NEED organization whose mission is to serve children with special needs and their families both locally and abroad. Our goal is to enrich the lives of these children and families by supporting already existing programs and organizations devoted to our cause as well as aiding in the
development, implementation and financial support of programs where they are non-existent, all in an attempt to provide the children with opportunity and a sense of community in which to blossom. Angel’s in Need, Inc. operates on a strictly volunteer basis. We are a 100% volunteer, 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization. December 2021: THE MIRACLE LEAGUE OF GREATER NEW ORLEANS
The mission of the Miracle League of Greater New Orleans is to promote the health and well-being of children with disabilities, provide opportunities for able-bodied children to learn about and interact with children with disabilities, and develop community awareness and support for the child athlete with disabilities through organized sports leagues. The Miracle League is designed to serve kids who cannot be accommodated by established baseball, basketball and soccer leagues due to the special needs of their disabilities. The vision of the program is to provide any child, regardless of their level of disability, the opportunity to play league sports and enjoy the emotional and physical benefits of being part of a team sport.
November 2021: OZANAM INN
Ozanam Inn is a non-profit, direct service agency serving the homeless and underserved of greater New Orleans, regardless of race, color, creed, religious preference or national origin. All of our services are provided free-of-charge. The Inn was established in 1955 by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and is named in honor of Frederick Ozanam, who founded the Society in 1852.
Ozanam Inn is currently equipped to sleep a minimum of 96 men per night and in times of emergency, up to 125. Overnight guests are given a bed for the night, a shower (toiletries and other necessities are provided), supper and breakfast, and are given clean pajamas in which to sleep. After the sale of the Camp St. location, in December of 2020, Ozanam Inn purchased a new and much larger building, at 2239 Poydras St., so that we can provide assistance to even more individuals in need. In our Poydras St. home, we will be able to sleep 155 individuals including up to 55 beds dedicated for female guests. We are excited to be able to provide shelter for women for the first time in our history, as our old building did not have the space to facilitate women’s dormitories. For decades, we have provided paid for vouchers to a nearby shelter so that our female clients had a clean and safe place to rest for the evening. Opening our doors to welcome females has been a dream for years and is now a reality.
In addition to shelter and food, the Inn offers several other services. Ozanam Inn’s meal program is one of the most comprehensive in New Orleans, offering three meals a day, seven days a week. Anyone (men, women and children) may partake in our meal program and we serve an average of 400 – 500 meals each day. Clothing is offered to anyone in need with approximately 1,500 pieces of clothing distributed each month. Volunteer doctors and medical students perform basic healthcare services in-house and make referrals to area hospitals when necessary; they also offer several health screening such as TB tests, Hepatitis C tests and more. These services are provided through partnerships with LSU and Tulane Schools of Medicine and LSU School of Dentistry who hold a basic medical clinic on Saturdays and Sundays and is open to all. Additionally, anyone may use the Inn’s address to receive any and all types of mail, including important documents such as identification cards, social security cards, etc.
Our case management team is on hand to help our clients who are struggling by, first, stabilizing their immediate crises and then working to understand the root causes of their homelessness. From there, we are able to connect them with the services and assistance they need to regain their health and independence.
Housing programs at the Inn are responsible for assisting more than 150 individuals and families with finding safe, affordable homes of their own. When needed, follow-up case management is provided to ensure they are able to maintain and sustain their independence.
October 2021: DEAR DEANNDRA INC.
Dear Deanndra Inc., was inspired by the life of Deanndra Roach, sister of Executive Director, Davida Roach. She was murdered by her ex-boyfriend at the young age of 18, after she had the courage to leave the relationship. This organization was built to honor her memory and empower young women in their teenage years, and to educate them to avoid toxic relationships. Domestic Violence is a serious and silent killer and there is a strong need to spread awareness, which is why we host annual fundraiser events for their cause.
Through our philanthropic efforts, public speaking, and community events, our goal is to end victimization for young girls and to develop a strong sense of self awareness. We hope to have your support in our efforts on this cause!
We remind our young women of Proverb 31:25 “She is clothed with strength and dignity and she laughs without fear of the future”.
September 2021: HUMANE SOCIETY OF LOUISIANA
The Humane Society of Louisiana is a private animal protection charity founded in New Orleans in 1988. As leaders in the fight against cruelty to animals, we work to prevent animal abuse and neglect in all its forms.
Our diverse programs are intended not only touch the lives of individual animals but to transform the state into a more compassionate place. We receive no government funding, and we rely solely on private contributions for support.
The Humane Society of Louisiana is the only local animal protection charity that speaks out for all animals of all kinds. We work to start and/or expand services and programs to help them.
This is vitally important work, because 50 % of our state’s parishes are without any kind of shelter or animal care services. When an animal is hit by a car most places in Louisiana, there is no agency to respond. When an animal is being neglected or abused, there is no one to help if the police don’t take action – and they often don’t. There are virtually no programs to help wildlife or other animals in need.
We’re working to change all that by making Louisiana’s communities kinder and more humane for everyone. Please join us as a donor, supporter or volunteer and help us make a profound difference for animals in need.
August 2021: THE ASSOCIATION FOR WOMEN ATTORNEYS - FOOD FROM THE BAR 2021 CAMPAIGN
The Association for Women Attorneys is excited to host the 10th Annual New Orleans Food from the Bar Campaign, benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank. Food from the Bar is the legal community’s response to child hunger across the country, in which local firms raise funds, donate food, and volunteer at local food banks.
Your support will help Second Harvest continue to respond to an increased need due to the COVID-19 disaster. Help us feed hungry families across South Louisiana this summer and beyond.
July 2021: PABLOVE ACROSS AMERICA 2021 FOR SCOTT GALANTE CAMPAIGN
Late this summer, I’ll join the Pablove Across America peloton as we fight childhood cancer with love, one pedal stroke at a time. Our journey this year will be through the roads and trails in beautiful Oregon. We’ll no doubt encounter tough climbs and numerous challenges, but nothing we face will compare to the hardship kids living with cancer and their families endure every day.
Every dollar you give gets me closer to completing this ride and funding The Pablove Foundation’s mission to improve the lives of children living with cancer through the arts and invest in underfunded, cutting-edge pediatric cancer research. We help kids with cancer live a love-filled life today, and a cancer-free life tomorrow.

March 2021: BLIND CAT RESCUE & SANCTUARY, INC.
We are a lifetime care sanctuary for blind, FIV & Leukemia positive cats located in St. Pauls, North Carolina (USA).
In 2005, we built our first building as a safe place for blind cats who were deemed not adoptable by regular shelters and were going to be euthanized because they were blind. In 2011, we built a second shelter to provide a safe place for Leukemia positive (FELV+) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV+) cats who otherwise would be killed because they tested positive for these viruses.
At our cage free no-kill shelter in St. Paul’s NC, we are presently caring for 80+ cats whose age, medical condition, temperament or other special needs makes them even more precious in our eyes.

JANUARY 2021: NEW ORLEANS UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB FUNDRAISER
As we all know, soccer is an unfortunately expensive game to play in the United States. There are too many folks that seek to profit off our beautiful game. That is not our aim in starting New Orleans United FC. We want to bring you true community-based high-level soccer without any of the socioeconomic and cultural barriers you might find elsewhere.
That being said, starting a grassroots organization with the combined resources of two college students and two recent college graduates is a tall task. For this to succeed, we need the support of all New Orleanians, including financially. While other organizations derive their support from one wealthy benefactor or the competing interest of several benefactors, we would like to be supported by the community we want to serve. Being free from outside influences will help us be undeterred in our commitment to you, the city of New Orleans. We are aware that these are tough economic times for many of you, but New Orleans United FC would love to have your help in trying to establish itself. As we have put on our website, we are committed to transparency at all levels. To make good on our promise to you, we have published all of the expenses with which we need help paying for on our Go Fund Me page. We hope that you will join and support us in our exciting project.
